Penobscot Technology

Navigating digital technology

Penobscot Technology was formed by the town of Penobscot, Maine and its broadband committee to offer free workshops on digital literacy and tech trouble shooting. The workshops are funded by the Broadband Initiative Fund and the Maine Community Foundation. Our work focused on creating a brand identity that was eye-catching, approachable, and felt specific to Penobscot.

The cursor/compass in the mark is a nod to the way Penobscot Technology will help people navigate the digital world. Since Penobscot is a coastal town, we took inspiration specifically from a boat’s compass. The background graphic is an abstracted version of the Northern Bay, which can be seen from many of the town buildings. Subtle motherboard nodes in the illustration further tie into the technology theme.
