The goal of the illustrations and design for this story, which chronicles the tangled roots of Ultimate Frisbee, was to capture movement and the moment of joy when you’re leaping through the air to catch a disc. The monochromatic blue watercolors highlight the texture of the sky, clouds, grass, and trees while capturing the movement of the players.
This project was part of my ongoing work as design director for Amherst College’s quarterly alumni magazine.
